Grim Reviews covers 2 books I'm editing

Grim Reviews has posted an article on the release of The Grimscribe's Puppets and A Season in Carcosa, two tribute anthologies I'm editing for release in 2012. GR is, for my money, one of the best WEIRD FICTION blogs out there, so I'm delighted to see them mention these upcoming tomes.

Both books will be released by Miskatonic River Press.

projects... stuff...

Sitting here wishing I was Ellen Datlow. All that vision and skill, man, my respect for her has risen 1,000 fold – and hell, it was monumental before. But I have what I have in my toolbox and I’m over the moon w/ the kind and enthusiastic responses to my invitations to the Carcosa and Ligotti anthologies I’m working on. The fanboy/dreamer/reader in me got up and danced around the room a few times when I received a YES! [Think I might have swooned a couple of times too! !!]

AKLO is just plain fun. A zine that turned into a book and everybody bringing their love of the game. Being among these contributors as they play and laugh gets me high. Nice bunch of folks!! !

Just saw a new Kristamas picture – 1st page of a new tExt jumped up and bit me…… As a muse, KK is a 7,683 on a scale of 1 to 10! !!

Sun’s out. Not used to it… Wonderin’ if it’s legal for me to be up when the sun’s shining…

Just saw the Cap trailer – LIKED! Hey, MARVEL, I’d die to write a Dr. Strange novel!! ! [HA!]
Ditko, talk about a cat w/ mountains of the stuff! !!

Editing 3 books, working on 3 new tales and my next novel… Watching my inbox… Desktop is full. No sleep till Hammersmith – can I take that back?? ?

_A Season In Carcosa_ and _The Grimscribe's Puppets_ are coming! !!

I am very proud to announce Miskatonic River Press will be releasing two anthologies I am editing. A Season In Carcosa will be similar in feel and direction to Ellen Datlow’s stunning Lovecraft Unbound, but I’ll be mining the King In Yellow work of Robert W. Chambers. The 2nd book is called, The Grimscribe’s Puppet and will feature all new tributes to weird fiction’s legendary master, Thomas Ligotti. These two books will be released in summer and fall of 2012. The list of names who have agreed to pen tales for these two books is, I feel, breathtaking. More on that as things progress.

With Wilum Pugmire’s upcoming new collection and Kevin Ross’ Dead But Dreaming 2, as well as Scott Aniolowski’s new holiday-themed anthology of new Lovecraftian fiction, Horror For the Holidays, MRP steps to the fore to solidly commit itself to giving readers the finest in Lovecraftian fiction.

Editor’s note: Submissions for the 2 anthologies I’m working on are by invitation only.

The SINs of Cody Goodfellow...

Cody Goodfellow, author of Radiant Dawn and many other wonders passed this along...

"While everybody else in horror is still aping the shallow visual palette of cinema, Joe Pulver calls down a storm of psychotronic nightmares charged with the evocative depth and relentless pulse of the Devil's music. This isn't a book that wants to be a movie. This is a drug disguised as a book. Spiked with poignant wisdom and poisoned surprises and defiantly shredding expectations of how a story should work, yet SIN & ASHES is not experimental. Joe Pulver knows full well what kind of cerebral explosions his ingredients will produce. SIN & ASHES is an iconoclastic revolt, and a devastating reminder of the unique, unmatchable power of well-wielded words."

I am humbled.

Mike Dubisch + Pulver and a Black Velvet CURSE... or 6

Just turned in a bunch of short poetic texts for Mike's new and upcoming Black Velvet Necronomicon: Curse Book. These are not quite Eibonic, but they do lean toward Dr. Strange land :) Did have Steve Ditko in my head while whipping them up...

Mike's art is FAB!! ! So it was a real pleasure to get the chance have him render illos based on my texts.

You can find Mike's demon-haunted wonderland here:
